The Borelli Ranch is a family owned and operated cattle ranch located in Eastern Oregon, about 50 miles Northeast of Burns. We run a commercial Red Angus cow herd and registered Red Angus bulls. All of our cattle graze on native meadows and native bunch grass uplands in the summers, ranging from an elevation of ~4,000 feet at the home meadows to ~5,500 feet in our forest permits. They are fed high quality grass and alfalfa hay throughout the winter that we put up ourselves during the summer, and are supplemented year round with a custom salt and mineral mixture.
Who are we?
The winters can be hard and the summers hot. A lot of our ground is rocky and steep, so weak or lazy cows don't last too long in these conditions. We have spent the last 30+ years here selecting only the best animals. Our animals are Certified Red Angus as well as Age & Source Verified by the Red Angus Association of America. Our livestock is handled quietly and humanely in modern facilities right here on the ranch, and we pride ourselves in having extremely gentle stock. We do our best to keep an all natural program - however we will still treat sick animals when needed - and we never use hormones or implants.
We make it a priority to practice sustainable yield/rotational grazing techniques on all of our grazed land. We are constantly striving to improve the condition and productivity of the land while retaining native and natural resources, not only for our livestock but for the wildlife as well. We are an honest and hardworking family who still believe that a quality product should come at a reasonable price!
